The effects of the different dementia types are similar, but not identical, as each one tends to affect different parts of the brain.

AIDS related dementia
Alcohol related dementia
Alzheimer’s disease, has two forms :
Familial Alzheimer’s Disease (FAD), also known as Early Onset Alzheimer’s or Younger Onset Alzheimer’s.
Sporadic Alzheimer’s Disease, also known as Late Onset Alzheimer’s.
Dementia with Lewy bodies: Another common form or dementia types, sharing many similarities with Alzheimer’s disease.
Down syndrome: Research has established a link between Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease.
Frontal lobe dementia, including Pick’s disease.
Vascular Dementia: The second most common of the dementia types, after Alzheimer’s disease.
Along with the alzheimer’s and dementia types we should be aware of the risks, causes, treatments, activities and more that affect those with afflicted with alzheimers or demetia as well as the friends and family of those afflicted.
